KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 26

The meeting of the Central Security Committee today reviewed and analysed various security concerns related to the upcoming National Assembly election and overall situation of law and order in the country.

The meeting chaired by Minister of Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand was called to discuss matters regarding safety and security concerns in the NA's upcoming election to be held on January 26 for 19 posts.

Eight polling stations and 14 voting centres have been designated for the NA election.

Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs Tek Narayan Pande said that the meeting held at the Ministry of Home Affairs also dwelt on multifaceted aspects of security arrangement in the local level election as well.

Among the attendees in the meeting were Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Begendra Sharma Poudyal, Home Ministry Secretary Pandey, Nepali Army's Lieutenant General Bal Krishna Karki, Inspector General of Nepal Police Shailesh Thapa Chettri and Armed Police Force's Inspector General Shailendra Khanal.

Also present in the meeting were National Investigation Department Chief Ganesh Prasad Adhikari, Joint-secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs Mukunda Niraula and Spokesperson at the Ministry of Home Affairs Pradeep Koirala.
