Cultural programme to mark dashain

Syangja, October 4:

A local youth club of Saldanda situated at Kitchanas VDC- 9 organised a cultural programme to mark Vijaya Dashami here yesterday. The Mandirchowk Youth Family (MYF) has been organising various functions during the festivals like Dashain and Tihar every year.

During the programme, young artistes of the area performed various dances, songs and dramas to create awareness among the people besides reciting poems.

Sunita Pradhan and Suraj Manandhar coordinated the function in which dozens of girls participated. “We are proud to have so many girls eagerly participating this year,” Manandhar said adding girls used to be shy and reluctant for social activities in the previous years. He said youths were more eager to participate this year because of the establishment of Loktantra in the nation.

The local spectators voluntarily donated Rs 12,000 for the MYF for their excellent performance.

During the function, former secretary of the Kitchanas VDC Kamal Manandhar handed over prizes to the students passing the SLC examination. Addressing the function Manandhar highlighted the importance of education in one’s life and appealed to all parents to create a favourable environment for their children to pursue higher education.
