RAUTAHAT, SEPTEMBER 7

A group of ten people looted millions of rupees from a house belonging to Sarojananda Jha by putting a oneand-half-years-old baby at gun point in Matsari of Durga Bhagawati Rural Municipality in Rautahat last night.

People wearing masks entered Jha's house at 10:00pm yesterday.

They looted gold, valuable jewellery and cash worth Rs 20 lakh from Jha's house. The group, in the age group 20 to 25 years, broke into the house with the help of a ladder and searched for jewellery for two hours and took the valuables at gun point.

Jha's son Mukesh said that the robbers took property worth Rs twenty lakh from his house. He said that the group of robbers locked the door of his parents' room from outside and entered his sister-in-law's room and looted the valuables.

Jha said that he could do nothing even though he had a licensed gun. He added that the dacoits escaped from the rear door after they cried for help.

Meanwhile, a police team deployed from Gangapipara Area Police Office, has started investigation. DSP Narayan Prasad Chimoriya of Gaur District Police Office, reached the incident site and said his team had been carrying out an investigation.

He added that the culprits would be arrested soon.
