According to project engineer Bishnu Prasad Pandey, the 41.5 km stretch from Jamune to Ambukhaireni in Tanahun has been fully blacktopped into four lanes, with six lanes completed in Damuli. Road painting has also been finished in most areas, while only minor works remain.

The contract for the eastern section, worth Rs 6.21 billion, was signed on January 30, 2021, with China Communication Construction, and work began in April 2021. The project is being implemented with loan support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
