The total number of Covid-19 related fatalities in Bara district has reached 62, till date.

According to the District Police Office (DAO), Bara, as many as 33 people, including seven females and 26 males, lost their lives during the first wave of coronavirus infection in the district.

Likewise, a total of 29 people, including five females and 24 males, succumbed to the virus during the second wave, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Gautam Mishra, Spokesperson at Bara DPO.

The DAO has enforced prohibitory measures for an indefinite period of time to combat the coronavirus disease. Health workers stressed that the risk has increased because people aren't following Covid-19 safety protocols imposed in the district.

Urging people not to leave the house unless necessary, Chief at District Public Health Office, Bara, Ram Naresh Yadav said that the death rate in the second wave has increased in the district.
