KATHMANDU, APRIL 26
The Department of Passports (DoP) under the Foreign Affairs Ministry has suspended operation of all except emergency services.
According to the department, services at the DoP would be interrupted as several employees at the department have tested positive for the coronavirus in the wake of the new wave of the pandemic. Additionally, other employees that were in contact with the infected ones are in course of getting tested.
In a press release issued today, the department informed that it will suspend operation of all non-emergency services provided with immediate effect from Tuesday.
The Department further clarified scope of emergency services stating that passports would be issued in case of medical emergencies and for those who have a confirmed ticket status.
