Details of quake damage being collected

Collection of details of damage wrought by the earthquake of last year has been completed in two municipalities and more than 54 village development committees in Kavre and the drive is on in three other municipalities and 19 VDCs.

Central Statistics Department, with the cooperation of the Ministry of Local Development, had launched the drive in the district from January 28 aiming to facilitate reconstruction of quake-ravaged houses.

The department has assigned a total of 206 engineers for the same.

According to Dinanath Lamsal, officer at the District Statistics Office, details have been coollected in Panchkhal, Dapcha-Kashikhanda municipalities and 56 VDCs.

“With completion of works, the data of 82,000 houses belonging to 75,000 families from the municipalities and VDCs has been uploaded on the server of the CSD,” he said.

Meanwhile, the government campaign to provide grant to quake victims to get their houses reconstructed has begun in Kavre from Sunday with the National Reconstruction Authority providing Rs 200,000 to each of the 20 quake victim families of Rabi Opi on Sunday.

The amount is meant for reconstruction of quake-damaged houses.
