DEO axe falls on seven more schools in Siraha district

Siraha, June 27

District Education Office, Siraha, has closed seven more schools running without licence today. The DEO had shut down three schools yesterday.

The DEO launched the campaign to close illegal schools after its verbal and written directives to shut the schools went unheard. A source at the DEO said four schools under Dhangadi Source Centre and three under Lahan Source Centre were closed.

A team led by school inspector Ramlakhan Manadl padlocked Marigold English Residential School, Creative English Residential School, Jwalamukhi English Boarding School, and Govinda Baba English Boarding School in Dhangadimai Municipality.

Similarly, a team led by school inspector Bhawani Katel of Lahan Source Centre padlocked New Sishu Niketan, Asian Gurukul Education Academy and Saraswoti English Boarding School.

The teams pulled down the shutters in the presence of local parents and guardians.

Established this year,  Jwalamukhi English Boarding School had been running classes up to Grade V. Likewise, Creative and Govinda Baba had been offering classes up to Grade VIII.

As per the DEO, as many as 36 schools are operating without licence in Siraha.
