District presidents gather at Kakani
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress district presidents on Wednesday assembled in Kakani, Nuwakot, for a two-day informal gathering to come up with a common opinion on the draft statute amendment and political document.
The district presidents plan to present their recommendations to the party’s central working committee meeting slated to begin tomorrow to discuss the draft statute clause-wise.
They also plan to present their recommendations to NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, senior leader Ramchandra Paudel and other office bearers, according to NC Panchthar district President Narendra Kumar Kerung.
He said some recommendations included increasing the number of CWC members to ensure representation of all 77 districts in the CWC; increasing the number of office bearers to ensure representation of all provinces; and increasing the number of party vice-presidents with one mandatory woman vice-president.
