Doti district adversely affected due to on-going protests

DHANGADI: Local protesters have shut down Dipayal Silgadhi Municipality of Doti district affecting the day to day life after the government did not declare Dipayal as the temporary provincial headquarters of Province 7.

The agitators have stopped the movement of vehicles at the border of Bhimdattapanta highway today due to which vehicles going to the hilly districts of Dadeldhura, Baitadi, Bajhang, Darchula, and Doti have not been able to move, whereas vehicles going to Bajura and Achham are moving via Surkhet.

In addition to the obstruction in vehicular movements, government offices, businesses, and industries are also closed. The locals have demanded that Dipayal, which has remained the regional headquarters of the far-western region, to be made the temporary headquarters of the province.
