KATHMANDU: Coinciding with the 16-day campaign against violence against women, Doti and Kapilvastu districts of Nepal organised District Girl Summits this week.

Respective District Women and Children's Offices had organised the events in coordination with Yuwalaya, a national youth-led NGO, and other organisations of the districts in Silgadhi of Doti and Taulihawa of Kapilvastu respectively.

Pre-event workshops were held on November 25-26 whereas the main events were from December 2 to 4 in both the districts, according to Yuwalaya.

At the events, children and adolescents of the districts had held thematic discussions on the issue of child marriage.

UNICEF Nepal and UK Aid had provided financial support of the events.
