KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Krishna Bahadur Mahara inaugurated Consulate General Office of Nepal at Guangzhou in China today.

Addressing a special ceremony, Minister Mahara extended gratitude to the Chinese government and Guangzhou's provincial government for the support in establishment of the office.

Stating that the newly established consulate is Nepal's fourth in China, Mahara expressed his belief that the office will contribute in strengthening the Nepal-China bilateral relations and broaden the relations in the commercial sector.

Underlining the strong relations between Nepal and China's Guangzhou province, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that economic and trade activities will surge with the establishment of the consulate.

Mahara also added that the relations between people of the two countries would enhance further in the coming days.

There are 200 Nepali businessmen engaged in various businesses in Guangzhou. They have hailed the establishment of the consulate office citing it will help resolve problems.

The ceremony was attended by Nepal's Ambassador to China, Lilamani Poudel, according to Press Public Relations Coordinator Hari Lamichane.
