LAMJUNG: An excavator driver was killed after being crushed by own machine at Gaunda-5 in eastern Lamjung this morning.

The deceased has been identified as Sarbendra Thebe (34) from Tyang-5 in Ilam district.

The incident took place when the machine fell around 200 metres off the road and crushed him in course of carrying out construction task of Gaunda-Dudhpokhari road section, according to the District Police Office, Lamjung.

His assistant Sakun Limbu was injured in the incident and is being brought to the district headquarters Besisahar for treatment, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Samir Chandra Kharel.
