Drugs for leprosy patients in short supply

Nawalpur, December 19

Leprosy patients in Nawalpur have been hit hard due to lack of drugs that are distributed free of cost to them.

According to health workers, the drugs required for leprosy patients have been in short supply for the past one month.

“We have already informed the authorities concerned about the medicine crunch, and the problem will be solved very soon,” said acting public health chief at District Public Health Office, Nawalpur, Indramani Bhandari.

Meanwhile, Gandaki Province Leprosy Department Chief Rekh Bahadur Thapa attributed the shortage of medicines to inordinate delay in collecting the details of leprosy patients in the district.
