KATHMANDU, MARCH 25
Fearing the further spread of COVID-19 infection in the community, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has asked the schools to avoid crowding and strictly abide by the prescribed precautionary measures.
A meeting presided over by education Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha on Thursday took a decision to this end considering the adverse effects on students' health and academic activities in the institutions.
According to Ministry's Spokesperson Dipak Sharma, all the academic institutions have been asked to adopt the health protocols and security measures determined by the provincial governments and local levels including use of facemasks and hand sanitisers at schools. Similarly, the institutions have also been requested to make sure that provisions for hand washing, taking body temperature and taking the symptomatic persons to the nearby health institutions are effectively prepared.
As stated in the press release, the schools must follow the 'School Operation Framework, 2077' and not conduct any assemblies, functions, anniversary celebrations and other crowd-inducing events.
