Elderly get health services at doorsteps
Siraha, February 6
With the initiative of Ward No1 of Bishnupur Rural Municipality, health workers provided health services to elderly citizens and the disabled in the ward in Siraha.
Health workers reached the houses of elderly citizens and provided health services to them free of cost.
Ward Chair Gopendra Yadav said the mobile health camp was organised twice a month for those who could not reach health facilities for treatment. Yadav said they had committed to providing health services along with giving social security allowance to the elderly and the disabled, among others, during last year’s election.
Jogiya Kamati, 80, a local, said that she was very happy after health workers reached her house and provided health services free of cost. Another local, Paro Sada, 75, of the ward said that he was also very happy after the health workers offered health services his house.
The rural municipality-based health department Chief Ram Sewak Ram said that health technicians reached the elderly and the disabled in the ward at least twice a month. He said that medicines available at the health centre had been distributed free of cost.
