RAJBIRAJ, FEBRUARY 27

Election related activities have intensified with the announcement of local level election date in Saptari.

The District Election Office today organised an interaction to update the voter name list and also published the schedule for the same. As per the schedule, voter name list and notice of the election programme will be published on March 3. Deadline for correction of name is on March 4, while March 8 has been scheduled to remove the names of voters not eligible to cast votes. According to district election office, the final list with rectification will be published on March 9 and updated date list will also be sent to the election office on March 10.

At the programme, district election officer Ramesh Kumar Jaisi said that the people who turned 18 by May 11 will be eligible for voting. There are 424,709 voters in the district. Stakeholders at the programme suggested operating election related activities in a fair manner.

Chief District Officer Janardan Gautam, SP Avinarayan Kafle, Rajbiraj Municipality Mayor Shambhu Prasad Yadav, among other representatives of political parties, mediapersons, rights activists, and representatives from different organisations, suggested that the elections should be held in free and fair manner.
