KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 17

Chairperson of CPN-Maoist Centre Pushpa Kamal Dahal views the November 20 elections to the House of Representatives and provincial assemblies as a referendum between progressive and regressive forces.

The former prime minister said there was need for the ruling alliance to win the polls for implementation of the rights of deprived social class, geographical regions and indigenous people. In a video message, he urged all the voters to exercise their right to vote and make the coalition victorious.

"The responsibility of ensuring prosperous Nepal through people's access to education, health and employment opportunities and self-reliant economy has fallen on our shoulders. We do not have the luxury of making excuses and remaining confused," he said.

Saying there is no possibility of pursuing the journey of development, prosperity and justice under the leadership of a regressive force, he stressed the need to nurture a pro-change force to lead the next government.

"In a bid to end regressive forces and corruption, and pursue the journey of socialism through a prosperous Nepal, I want to appeal to all the voters to vote for candidates from the alliance under the first-pastthe-post system and for the Maoist Centre (whose election symbol is 'a hammer and sickle enclosed inside a circle') under proportional representation."
