Exemplary child development centre in Bajura
BAJURA: A Child Development Centre has been built in Kanda village of the district.
The Centre on the premises of Parbati Primary School, remote village of Meltola in Kanda-4 of the district has been claimed to be one of the best in the region for its child-friendly building and environment.
Statistics of the District Education Office (DEO) show that there are more than 223 CDCs in the district. However, people share complaints galore about lack of proper infrastructures and instructors at such CDCs.
According to Manbir Khati, resource person of the DEO, there are currently 29 children residing in the Centre.
Though only the class room was cemented earlier, the entire CDC building is well build now with the help of donors, the DEO informed.
The building was constructed with an investment of Rs 6.77 million, informed Yogendra Chapagain, Education Development Officer of the Asal Chhimeki Nepal, which cooperated with the DEO for the construction.
According to the facilitator, Belu Chand Singh, children are enjoying teaching-learning activities after the early child development classes were designed and conducted with child-friendly principles.
