DHANGADI, JULY 7

Members of Sudurpaschim Province Assembly have drawn the attention of the government to various contemporary problems.

Speaking at the Province Assembly meeting today, PA member Birman Chaudhary demanded the whereabouts of three-year-old Bibek Bista of Tikapur in Kailali district, who has gone missing since July 5. It is suspected that Bista has been abducted.

Similarly, another Province Assembly member Liladhar Bhatta has demanded remuneration for workers at the under-construction road in Baitadi, who have been deprived of their pay for the past 21 months and also for employees of Khaptad Tourism Development Committee.

Shanti Nepali demanded action against culprits behind the murder of Sushila Rokaya of Khaptadchhanna Rural Municipality in Bajhang district, who was reportedly beaten to death and compensation for the bereaved family.

The meeting also endorsed the bill made to replace the Sudurpaschim Province Environment Protection Ordinance.

Similarly, the meeting unanimously passed the proposal tabled by Minister of Internal Affairs and Law Purna Joshi demanding that the Bill related to the formation, operation and terms of services of Sudurpaschim Province Public Service be sent to the Legislature and Province Affairs Committee for clausewise discussion.
