Federal Alliance ultimatum to implement 3-point pact
KATHMANDU: The Federal Alliance on Monday served a 15-day ultimatum to the government urging the latter to fully implement the three-point agreement the ruling coalition partners had signed with it in August before electing Pushpa Kamal Dahal the Prime Minister.
The Alliance leaders held a meeting Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal at his residence in Baluwatar and submitted a memorandum to the PM with the ultimatum.
Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal Co-Chairman Rajendra Shrestha, who was present in the meeting, told THT Online that the Alliance in cooperation with the other pro-identity forces would launch a national movement if the ultimatum was not heeded.
It has been demanding that the government immediately table a Constitution amendment bill to address their concerns as promised.
In response, the Prime Minister said the amendment bill would be tabled at the House before the ultimatum expires, according to a statement issued by the PM's Secretariat later today.
The Alliance also demanded that the state delineation should be on a par with the report of the erstwhile State Restructuring Commission, according to Shrestha.
Rajendra Mahota, Upendra Yadav, Mahendra Ray Yadav, Om Gurung, Ashok Rai among others had represented the Alliance.
