FNJ eastern region journalists meet
Damak, August 27:
A meeting of the central representatives of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists from the Eastern development region passed a 13-point agenda today. The meeting, held in Birtamod, has asked the government to fulfill journalists’ demand. Earlier, participants of the meeting had flayed both the government and the Maoists for violation of humanitarian laws and curbing of press freedom. The 13-point agenda includes seeking guarantee of press freedom from authority concerned, dismissal of restriction on the press and airing of news by the FM radio stations, dismissal of one-way door system in advertisement policy and seeking compensation to the journalists tortured by the security forces.
