PHIDIM: Former minister and Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal leader Padma Sundar Lawoti passed away on Wednesday. He was 76. He breathed his last during the course of treatment at the Thapathali-based Norvic Hospital today. Lawoti, who was admitted at the hospital in a critical condition on June 6, was shifted to ventilator from Intensive Care Unit this morning. He was suffering from high blood pressure and respiratory problems  since long. The hospital, however, is yet to announce the death of Lawoti, son Sagun Sundar Lawoti informed. Born on July 22, 1939, Lawoti, a pro-royalist leader, had led several ministries like Home Affairs, General Administration and Agriculture during the panchayat system and also after the restoration of multi-party democracy. Lawoti, who was co-chair of the Kamal Thapa led RPP-Nepal, had started his political career from student front in 1957.
