Former DPM Ishwar Pokhrel visits Khanal at Norvic

KATHMANDU, JUNE 16

Former Prime Minister and senior UML figure Jhalanath Khanal has been taken to the Indian capital of New Delhi for treatment on Wednesday afternoon.

Khanal was receiving treatment at Thapathali-based Norvic International Hospital where he was admitted to on June 14 after reportedly developing post-Covid symptoms.

He had contracted Covid-19 in the early week of May and had received medical-care for the same for 10 days at Norvic.

The former PM was flown-in to Delhi by his family for further treatment as his health situation did not improve following prolonged respiratory issues and several other health related complications.

Former Deputy Prime Minister and UML leader Ishwar Pokhrel had visited Khanal at the hospital and wished him speedy recovery.

During the short meeting, Khanal talked to Pokhrel about the ongoing crisis in the CPN-UML and urged all to work towards saving party unity, it has been learnt.
