Four dead including two minors, one missing

Four persons, including two minors, have lost their lives in floods and by drowning in water in Siraha in the past two days.

In Mirchaiya Municipality, Santosh Sah’s five-year-old daughter Priyanka had gone missing from home on Sunday evening. Her body was found today near her village.

Elsewhere, Sobhit Katuwal, 55, a construction worker from Udayapur working in Naraha Rural Municipality, Siraha, died in the course of treatment today after he slipped on the way and got injured while negotiating a flooded stretch on the way back home after work yesterday.

Similarly, while Ragini Kumari Mahato, 10, of Mirchaiya Municipality also died after she drowned in Paterwa, Siraha Municipality, yesterday, a 30-year-old woman died in the floods on Sunday itself. Police said they were yet to identify the woman.

On the other hand, a 15-year-old Indian teenager, Bali Sah, who drowned in a pond in Sukhachaina of Siraha Municipality yesterday, is yet to be found. Police said a search for the missing boy is on.
