Four workers employed in a project died after consuming poisonous liquor in Baglung district.

The deceased have been identified as Dipendra Pun (21), Dudh Bahadur Rana (39), Rekh Bahadur Rana 951), and Pabin Gharti (30). They were the working at Malm Drinking Water Project of Galkot Municipality-7 in the district.

Similarly, Khemraj Gharti (38), and Rabindra Pun (26) are in a serious condition after the intake of toxic liquor. They are undergoing treatment at Dhaulagiri Hospital, informed Dr Shailendra B Pokhrel, Medical Superintendent at the hospital.

They had reportedly consumed homemade liquor at a local eatery.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Ikwal Hawari, information Officer at District Police Office, four workers breathed their last while receiving treatment at Dhaulagiri Hospital.

Meanwhile, police have detained the liquor seller and have started an investigation into the incident, informed police.
