Four held for Pokhara man’s murder

Pokhara, June 1 :

Police have arrested four persons in Kathmandu on the charge of involvement in the murder of 40-year-old Byas (Battu) Ghimire of Nadipur in Pokhara-3.

A police team led by inspector Binod Sharma, which went to Kathmandu from Pokhara, arrested 19-year-old Dhan Kumar Purja, 18-year-old Khem Pun of Fulbari-11, 19-year-old Nirajan Badagami and Jit Bahadur Pun of Bhairab Tole. A search is on for the others involved in the murder, police said.

Ghimire was killed by an armed group who drove up on motorbikes on last Monday and attacked him with sharp-edged weapons while he was drinking water at a shop at Nadipur here. Meanwhile, police have formed a special task force to curb crimes in Pokhara.

The 25-member task force is led by police inspector Sunil Malla. Meanwhile, police arrested four foreigners at the Munal Hotel in Lakeside here for possessing drugs. An Israeli, a Briton, a Russian and a Japanese were arrested and eight kilogram of hashish was seized from them, police said.
