Four held with Rs 400,000 kickbacks in Sarlahi

RAUTAHAUT: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority has arrested four officials-  two of them joint secretaries- red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 400,000 from a local job seeker, in Sarlahi district on Thursday.

The arrestees are identified as Assistant District Education Officer Ramhari Rijal, an official at the office Basudev Timilsina- both of them joint secretaries, Headmaster of Janjyoti Secondary School  Bishnu Bahadur Pokharel and the chairperson of the School Management Committee Indra Prasad  Neupane.

Janakpur-based regional office of the anti-graft body arrested them from Namaste Guest House at Lalbandi in the district at 9:00 am today when they were receiving the kickback from local CP Paudel, who was going to be appointed as a temporary teacher at the School.

According to the Chief District Officer Pradeep Raj Kandel, the suspects have been   arrested by a team deployed from the regional office of anti-corruption constitutional body and were taken to the office for necessary legal actions.
