Madhes Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut has said the government was serious about creating conducive environment for the development of businesses and industries.

Speaking at a programme of Saptari Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Rajbiraj today, the chief minister underscored the role of the private sector in ensuring the growth of industries and businesses and the progress of the country on the whole and went on to say that the government was preparing to hold interactions with the industrial and business fraternity of the province to devise a policy to promote industries and businesses in the province.

"We were unable to bring forth our own provincial industry act earlier. But now we've formulated the act, we are also preparing to bring forth related regulations too," Raut said, adding that the act would ensure security and concessions on power consumption and no strike provision for industries.

Madhes Province Finance Minister Shailendra Sah informed about the government's plan to hold an investment-friendly conference in order to encourage the private sector. "The conference will be instrumental in putting together plans that could promote industries and businesses in the province," he said.

Sah informed about the government's preparation to produce organic manure in the country itself. "Such organic fertiliser will be provided to farmers at up to 75 per cent grant," he pledged.
