Girl beaten up, action sought against teacher
Itahari, June 9:
Nine-year-old Pinki Sharma was injured yesterday after her teacher Sushma Choudhary thrashed her because she did not know how to write on a blackboard.
Pinki’s right leg is not functioning properly, her mother, Jaya Mala Sharma, said, adding that she has wounds all over her body.
“Yesterday Pinki did not return home on time and we went to her school — Madan-Ashrit Primary School — at Khanar in Sunsari to look for her. We found her weeping on the school premises and rushed her to a local health post where she is undergoing treatment,” Jaya Mala said.
Meanwhile, irked locals and guardians today demanded action against the teacher.
The principal of the school, Mithila Sharma, begged excuse and said it was a mistake on the part of the teacher. While the locals and guardians have been demanding action against the teacher, the principal of the school has said the school would bear all the expenses for Pinki’s treatment.
