RAJBIRAJ: A 13-year-old girl was buried to death when a soil mound caved in at Kanchanrup Municipality-11, Saptari, on Friday.

The incident occurred when the girl was collecting soil for smearing her house. The deceased has been identified as Pawan Sardar’s daughter Pushpa Sardar.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Tilak Bharati said Pushpa died on the spot after the soil mound buried her near a local stream.

Manprit Sardar, who was accompanying the deceased, was critically injured in the incident. Sardar is receiving treatment at Biratnagar-based Nobel Hospital. —
