Govt preparing for talks with India on border issues, says Minister Aryal

Minister of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma Aryal today said the government was preparing to hold talks with India to bring back encroached territories.

“The government is all set to bring back the encroached territories and thus is ready to exploit all possible channels to that effect,” said the minister, speaking at a press conference organised by Press Organisation, Lamjung, in the district headquarters Besisahar today. “A map incorporating the encroached land of Lipiyadhura, Kalapani and others will be published at an opportune time,” she added.

The minister said the government has identified cases wherein public land has been encroached and said investigation was under way regarding encroachment of government land belonging to Lalita Niwas in Baluwatar, Kathmandu.

Further, the minister claimed that the government had done much in the past three years. “The government, which is guided by its slogan of Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali, has done a lot in the past three years in the field of education, health and agriculture,” she said.

The minister also informed of the work the government was doing to eradicate poverty by 2030.
