'Government will remain till next polls'
Kavre, March 8
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Kamal Thapa today claimed that the incumbent KP Oli-led government would continue in power until the next parliamentary elections.
Addressing a programme organised by Kavre DDC in Dhulikhel, Thapa reiterated the claim that the incumbent government would stay in power despite the fact that some elements were hatching a plot to overthrow it.
He held that it would be foolhardy to plot to overthrow a government that was committed to implementing the new statute. "Since the government has parties and leaders from diverse backgrounds and ideologies, it will not be wise to overthrow it," Kamal Thapa added.
Thapa informed that the government was going to form a commission to restructure local bodies within a fortnight. "The commission will be mandated to prepare a report taking into account the people's feelings, necessity and local identity," he said. He claimed the local polls would be held within a few months.
