Govt can mobilise army after SPA nod, says Sushil

Siraha, January 25:

Acting president of the Nepali Congress (NC) Sushil Koirala said today that the government, with the consent of the seven parties, can mobilise the army for holding constituent assembly polls. Talking to journalists at a press conference held by the Press Union Siraha in Lahan today, he said, “Like in the past, army may be mobilised for the polls this time as well.”

He urged the Goit and Jwala factions of the Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha to come to the talks table for strengthening democracy. He said the government is ready to make security arrangements and conducive environment for talks.

NC general secretary Dr Ram Baran Yadav said the CA polls will resolve all problems facing the Tarai. Claiming that pro-royal and non-nationalist elements were trying to foil the polls, he appealed to everyone to participate in the polls.
