BAITADI: Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Hitraj Pandey has said the government was now focused on implementing the Constitution and holding local body election.

Minister Pandey made the remark after declaring Siddheshwar VDC of Baitadi as child-friendly VDC on Friday. He said the government was ready to hold the three-tier election.

Stating that a long-term plan was needed for development of any settlement, Minister Pandey pledged government's readiness to support the concept of integrated settlement introduced by the Dhurmus Suntali Foundation.

The government would put more effort into making all the VDCs, municipalities, provinces and the entire country child-friendly, he added. He assured of additional budget for the VDCs that address the child-friendly indicators.
