KATHMANDU, APRIL 28

Government of Nepal has made it mandatory for all those arriving in Nepal, via land and via air, to stay in a 10-day-quarantine immediately upon arrival.

According to the decision made by the cabinet, all foreign nationals except those from China and India would be barred entry to the country from land route.

All Indian nationals entering from land route will have to present their respective PCR reports clearing them of having contracted Covid, and that from samples collected within 72 hours. They must also produce a proof of a prior hotel reservation for 10 days to stay in quarantine.

In case of Chinese nationals arriving through land route, they will have to provide their entry permits along with a PCR report and confirmation of hotel booking for quarantine.

This will also be applicable to all those who arrive in the country via air route.

Similarly, Nepali citizens arriving via air route will also have to provide a negative PCR report and have to mandatorily stay in hotel or home quarantine. Those who are arriving from India through land route will have to stay in home quarantine under monitoring of local levels.

District Covid-19 Crisis Management Centres and local levels should monitor whether or not people are following the protocols and report it to Covid Crisis Management Centre and the Home Ministry, it has been decided.
