Govt to launch irrigation project
DHANGADHI: The government is going to launch Underground Shallow Tube-well Irrigation Project in Kailali and Kanchanpur districts as part of relief for the flood-affected people in the two districts. Under the project, 10 tube-wells will be set up in Kailali and 100 in Kanchanpur so as to provide irrigation facility to the flood-hit farmers, according to the Underground Water Resources Development Project's field office in Dhangadhi. The construction of a tube-well costs around Rs 35,000. All tube-wells under the project will be installed on 100 percent subsidy. A total of Rs 3.5 million has been allocated for the project this year.
