Gulmi Festival concludes with 100,000 visitors
GULMI: The third Gulmi Festival organised for the promotion of agriculture products, tourism and industry concluded on Monday.
In the 16-day-long event — organised in the district headquarters of Tamghas by Gulmi Chamber of Commerce and Industry — priority was given to the exhibition of various traditional agricultural products.
The fair was visited by around 100,000 people and transactions worth around Rs 60 million were recorded, according to the organisers of the festival.
Likewise, traditional costumes, arts, cultural products, and musical instruments were also exhibited in the fair.
According to the Chairman of Gulmi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Durga Prasad Pandey, the festival started with the goal to promote and publicise the historical, religious and tourist sites in the district and develop the district as a tourist destination through this festival.
It is said that 40 per cent of the revenue collected from the festival would be spent in social activities.
