Gutkha banned at Rajbiraj hospital

Rajbiraj, December 28

In a bid to keep the hospital surroundings neat and clean, Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Hospital in Rajbiraj has banned gutkha on the premises of the hospital.

The hospital has started taking action against people entering into the hospital with gutkha as people were found spitting in each and every corner and walls of the hospital. Gutkha users have made the hospital dirty.

Hearing impaired persons from Deaf Association, Rajbiraj, have been deployed at the main entrance of the hospital to make sure that no one enters the hospital with gutkha and other tobacco related items.

Medical superintendent at the hospital Dr Chuman Lal Das said people taking gutkha would be asked to rinse their mouth before entering the hospital. Dr Das said that they were compelled to do this as several attempts to ban gutkha and tobacco related items on the hospital premises failed.
