Health services resume in Doti hospitals
DHANGADHI: The health services in Doti, which was halted for the past 20 days, have resumed from Friday evening.
The service resumed after Dr Gris Awasthi with support from a non-government organisation, Nick Simon Institute, returned the hospital.
The government doctors, however, are yet to return to the district.
According to Doti District Hospital Development Committee Chair Sopaan Bohara informed that the doctors refused to return despite assuring security to them.
A relative of a woman had assaulted Dr Jitendra Singh, accusing him of misbehaving with the woman while taking video x-ray.
Dr Singh’s teeth were broken in the attack. Thus, Dr Singh and his colleagues Dr Bibash Parajuli and Dr Raj Kumar Bishwokarma had gone to Dhangadhi, citing hostile work environment in Doti.
Doctors working at the government hospital left the district after Nepal Doctors’ Association and Association of Government Doctors jointly issued a statement asking doctors in private and government health facilities to leave the district.
