District Police Office, Khotang, has set up help desks for passengers at two different places keeping in view the flow of passengers during festivals.

Help desks have been set up at Kiratchowk of Diktel Municipality and Halesi of Halesi Tuwachung Municipality for facilitating the journey of passengers.“Help desks manned by Nepal Police and Traffic police personnel have been set up at places that have high flow of passengers,” said DSP Bamdev Gautam.

According to the DSP, the help desk will provide service round the clock and will also monitor if vehicles are carrying passengers beyond their capacity.

The DPO has made public a 19-point security plan targeting festivals. “As per the plan, some 139 personnel will be on standby round the clock. While there will be mobile patrol and foot patrol teams, a quick response team will also be mobilised,” DSP Gautam said.

There will be special round-the-clock security check by patrol team armed with weapons on the Mid-Hilly Highway, he said.
