RATNANAGAR, CHITWAN: A youth died in a rhinoceros attack in Madi of Chitwan district on Sunday.

The Chitwan District Police Office confirmed that Prem Raj Dhungel (27) of Madi Municipality-2 died after a rhinoceros attacked him while he was grazing cattle near the Chitwan National Park (CNP).

The search for Dhungel was intensified when he did not return home while the cattle did, on Sunday evening.

In course of the search, Dhungel's body was found in a bush in Madi Amiliya the same night. Police presumed that one of the pachyderms inhabiting the CNP might have attacked him.

The body was handed over to his family members after carrying out postmortem on Monday, police informed.
