Lamjung, August 22 :

Accusing X-ray assistant of the Lamjung district community Ram Kumar Raya Yadav of raping a 14-year-old girl at the X-ray room of the hospital, 300 teachers and 25 teachers of the Tanahun-based Purkot Kalika higher secondary school vandalised the hospital, said administrative officer of the hospital Yuba Raj Acharya.

Fifteen students and six policemen were injured in the clash that ensued between the policemen and the group, the Lamjung District Police Office said.

Relatives of the girl accused Yadav of raping her at the X-ray room of the hospital on Sunday. Windowpanes of the maternity room, laboratory, X-ray room and OPD passage were destroyed. Stating that action was being taken against the rapist, Acharya regretted the incident. President of the Purkot Kalila secondary school management committee Bikal Adhikari said the hospital was vandalised to put pressure for action against the guilty as the district police office had refused to register the rape case.
