A person attacked his wife with acid following a domestic dispute in the district on Saturday evening.
The accused has been identified as 42-year-old Deepak Bishwakarma of Chandrapur Municipality-4. He threw acid at his 38-year-old wife yesterday.
According to the Chandrapur-based Area Police Office, the victim has been admitted at the Apollo City Hospital for treatment.
The Hospital Administration informed that resultant to the heinous attack, the victim sustained acid burns on her hands and belly. As much as 18 percent of her body has been affected.
The Area Police Office has nabbed Bishwakarma and remanded him in police custody, stated Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Lilaraj Lamichhane.
Meanwhile, further investigation into the matter is underway.
