KATHMANDU, JANUARY 24
The identities of seven Nepalis killed in the train accident near the Pardhade railroad station in Jalgaon district, Maharashtra, India, have been confirmed. The tragic accident, which occurred around 5:05 PM on January 22, claimed 12 lives in total.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the deceased have been identified as:
- Kamala Nabin Bhandari (43) and Lachiram Pasi (40), both from Kailali
- Himu Nandaram Bishwakarma (11), Nandaram Padma Bishwakarma (44), and Maisara Kami Bishwakarma (42), all from Mangalsen, Achham
- Jokla (aka Kala Kami) (60) from Kamal Bazaar, Achham
- Radheshyam Radh (32) from Danduwa, Banke
Meanwhile, the Ministry is working to repatriate the bodies of the deceased and provide necessary assistance for the injured. MoFA is coordinating with the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi and the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu to expedite the process, the Ministry said in a press release issued on Friday.
