Sindhulimadhi, Dec 27

Police today seized illegal cooking gas, petrol and diesel from a bus that was heading to Kathmandu from Birtamod, Jhapa, at Kamalamai Municipality in Sindhuli.

According to District Police Office Sindhuli a police team had seized the illegal fuel items during security checking along BP Highway road section at Majhitar of the district. Police said that they had taken 27 illegal LPG gas cylinders, around 5,636 litres of diesel, petrol and kerosene from the bus.

DSP Bipin Ojha of DPO Sindhuli said that as many as seven persons including the bus driver Indraraj Shrestha of Mahadevsthan, Sindhuli were arrested after they could not produce the necessary documents during checking.

The arrested have been identified as Chaktra Bahadur Moktan of Taplejung, Niraj Pariyar of Udayapur, Hikmat Karki of Damak, Jhapa, Bungje Sherpa of Sindhupalchowk, Jitendra Pulami and Tara Pulami of Mechinagar, Jhapa. police arrested them for their involvement in black-marketing.

Police said that all the arrested have been kept in the custody at DPO, Sindhuli. Police suspect that the arrested might have been involved in illegal activities.
