'Individual ideology on rise in UM L'

POKHARA: CPN-UML chairman Jhalanath Khanal today said growth of individual ideology and power hunger was on the rise in his party. Speaking to mediapersons here, Khanal said, "The party has launched a nationwide campaign to wipe out all ill-practices prevailing in the party. The differences of opinion will do no good for the party."

He said the party was moving ahead as per the central committee's decision to reshuffle all the district committees within six months. He also clarified that he was not biased while choosing the committee members. "If anybody is dissatisfied with the reshuffling, it can be discussed in the party," the UML chairman said.

When asked about leader KP Oli's allegation of Khanal trying to impose dictatorship in the party, Khanal refused to comment on the subject in public. "The dispute will be discussed in the central committee," he said.

He also emphasised the need to choose the chairperson of the constitutional committee forging consensus among the major political parties at the earliest. "UML is ready to cooperate with other political parties while selecting the chairperson of the committee," he said.

"The political parties should move ahead unitedly to draft the constitution on time," he added. He said his party was ready to support the formation of a national government.
