Inmates face hard time in overcrowded jail
DAMAULI: Jailbirds at Tanahun Prison have been facing a number of difficulties in their daily life because as much as fivefold of its capacity have been kept into the facility.
The building with five small rooms which could accommodate 25 prisoners is currently housing 122 prisoners presently.
The jail guard Prem Pariyar informed that the prisoners are compelled to face hard times especially during the summertime.
Meanwhile, the Officiating Prison Chief Tirtha Nath Khanal said the Prison was not able to maintain the physical structures due to the limited budget allocated each year for the prison maintenance.
Meanwhile, the skin-related diseases are taking toll on new prisoners.
