Janakpur college director sent to jail for swindling

JANAKPURDHAM: The Dhanusha District Court ordered that former director of Dhanusha Nursing College be sentenced to two years in jail and nearly Rs 5 million fine for swindling students, on Sunday.

Dr. Sanjiv Yadav was convicted of cheating students by providing them fake receipts in return.

Judge Rishi Prasad Adhikari ordered that Yadav be imprisoned for two years and fined Rs 4.75 million.

Likewise, he would also pay the equal amount as compensation to the victims, said lawyers of Gayatri Devi, one of the college operators, who had filed the case.

After registration of the case, Yadav was relieved of his duties at the college.
