RAJBIRAJ, OCTOBER 8

CK Raut's Janamat Party staged a warning rally in Rajbiraj today against the increasing corruption in the country.

Scores of party supporters and cadres from villages wearing party hats and holding batons held the demonstration chanting slogans against corruption in the province. They, in particular, cited the case of provincial government's purchase and distribution of bicycles for female students and chanted slogans against Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut for irregularities in the purchase. The demonstrator also sought the CM's resignation.

The demonstration was held at many places, including Land Revenue Office, Rajbiraj Municipality Office and other government offices. These places usually draw a large number of service seekers every day. "As there has been a massive corruption at every level, from provincial government to the district-based offices and local levels, we had to stage the rally to warn against such irregularities," said the party district secretary Thaneshwor Sah.

"Roads are damaged even in the district headquarters to the extent that they are inoperable, but the government in the province and district-level government offices and local levels are busy paying out huge irregularities in the name of development, which is unfortunate," he said.
